Group Projects

We like to have at least one group project

on the go at any one time. Past projects

have included a a group summer quilt, being

shown here by Rosemary Muntus at our 25th

Anniversary evening; our 25th Anniversary

Quilt which was raffled between members

and is now in the proud possession of Linda

Libby, and our charity raffle quilt to raise

funds in aid of breast cancer care.

In addition to these large quilts, we have also

run a "members block-of the month"; a monthly

"themed A4" challenge and an annual "fabric challenge".

Many of our members also make quilts for Project Linus and our last fabric challenge was to make either a whole Linus quilt or a 12" block (the idea being that blocks could then be put together to make a quilt).

Our current challenge is a sampler quilt. Each participant will make their own quilt which can have as few or as many blocks as they like in a colour scheme and size of their own choosing. Ultimately we hope to be able to display these as part of our next exhibition. Every month (programme permitting) we demonstrate a different technique and the following month those participating in the challenge bring in their completed block as part of our show-and-tell.

Also on-going is our Altar Cloth and runner which the group is making as a gift for the the church in which we meet.
